Loretta Pickett Myers, 91, found eternal peace March 17, 2023, in the home she shared with her loving husband of over 67 years. Not only does she leave behind her devoted husband James B. (Jim) Myers, she is also survived by her son James R. (Jim) Myers and wife Cindi, daughter Denise Graupman-Myers and husband Ron, grandsons Robert Hessong and Chase Hessong, step-grandson Ryan Graupman and honorary grandsons Richard, Dalton and Walker Manske. She also leaves many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Loretta was a lover of wildlife and spent many years as a licensed rehabilitator for raptors, specializing in hawks and owls.
She shared her love of reading and music with all her kids and she never shied away from adventure. She also never shied away from sharing her opinion and delighted in a good, informed debate. When she found a new interest, she threw herself into it, completely and wasn't satisfied doing anything halfway. It usually took about seven years to get it out of her system and she was on to something new, jumping in with both feet and the wide eyed wonder of a kid.
She touched many people throughout her long journey and varied interests. She left an impact on a lot of lives.
Many will forever think of her when they hear a certain song, see a hawk or an owl, read a particular book or author. There are countless ways she'll cross our minds because she is, simply unforgettable.
