Malcom E. Parker, Sr., 86, born in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 15, 2018. He was born on November 22, 1931 at Fort Bayou in Jackson County, Mississippi to John Iver Parker and wife Mary Ann (Yokum). At the age of 5 his family moved to their house on Calhoun Avenue in Ocean Springs where he resided through his adolescent years.

At the young age of 19, Malcom enlisted in the Navy where he served on Destroyer Lofberg (DD759) 10151 in the Korean War until 1955. He then moved to Corpus Christi where he met and married the love of his life, Charlotte. Within just a short year Malcom started serving on Destroyer Escort (DE) Naifeh where he remained until 1958 before moving to Destroyer Isherwood. Between 1959 and 1960 he served on Destroyer Cogswell then shore duty at North Island and Naval Training Center. Malcom was stationed in Saigon, Vietnam in 1965 to 1966, then Subtender Nereus in San Diego from 1967 to 1968, on the Amphibious Ship Denver in 1967 to 1968 for construction as Plank Holder and finally at the Pentagon in 1968 before retiring in 1970. Malcom was also a member of the Community Church of Christ where he served as a deacon, priest and an elder.

Malcom was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Susie A. Yarbough, Marcella Williams, Lois J. Rogers; and brother Wallace Lawrence Parker. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife Charlotte Elizabeth (Deadman) Parker; his sons Mike E. Parker and John Richard Parker; and a host of other relatives and friends.
