Margaret Lois Bond

On Saturday, April 30, 2022, Margaret Lois Bond, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away at the age of 75. She was born in Lafayette, Louisiana to Emile and Glenda (Greves) Soulier, One of five children (Anne, Glenda, Emile, George).

Margaret grew up in the Lafayette area, and graduated from Mount Carmel High School. She was a member of the Eaglettes and on the basketball team. After high school she pursued her education at the University of Louisiana at Layfette, where she majored in Education.  In 1964 Margaret and her future husband Jim began dating. Four years later, in 1968, they were married at the parish there on the university and a year later they moved to Texas.  Margaret and Jim were blessed with three children James, Patrick, and Anthony. While the boys were younger she would shuttle them from the school functions to the baseball, football, and basketball activities, and to the functions at the church.  Once the boys were a little older, she gave her time to substitute teaching at the schools.  She served from the heart, and that showed in the classes she was called back numerous times to substitute for. She always had her faith at the base of what she did, and in her later years she could be found at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church.  She would take communion to those who could not come to the parish, volunteer countless hours to give to others, and sang in the choir.  She was a member of Catholic Daughters and the Seniors group at St. Maximilian Kolbe.

Left to cherish her memories is her loving husband of almost fifty-four years Jim and sons James, Patrick (Jennifer), Anthony (Basia), and her grandson Eric, whom she adored. Also surviving Margaret are her siblings and nieces and nephews, and Jim’s mother, brothers, and sister. She was preceded in death by her parents.

While we are sad that Margaret has left us on here on earth, we find comfort that she is with our heavenly Father, and day we will all be reunited again.
