Margaret M. Pretty Tucker, 95, passed away on February 9th, 2018.  Peggy was born in Cardiff, Wales, U.K.  to Bert and Anne Thomas Pretty on March 29, 1922. In the fall of 1926, her family immigrated to the United States on the RMS Aquitania and settled in New York.

On March 25, 1944, Peggy married her high school sweetheart, William I. (Bill) Tucker. Shortly after their wedding, the newlyweds moved from New York to California where Bill was stationed with the US Navy.  Their marriage was blessed with four children. During their 67 years of marriage they lived in New York, California, Texas and Missouri. 

Peggy and Bill were utterly devoted to each other. They enjoyed a passion for travel both here and abroad. Peggy spent many years as a volunteer at hospitals in Houston, St. Louis and Round Rock.  She was a lifelong Episcopalian and active in the Altar Guild for many years.

In 1990 Bill and Peggy returned to Texas to be close to their families. They loved living in Round Rock, TX where they were active members at Grace Episcopal Church in Georgetown. Peggy was a fixture at St. David’s Hospital Round Rock as a volunteer. She was recognized with the Frist  Humanitarian Award in 2001.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Bill in 2011, her son William in 1948 and by her parents and brother, Robert.  She is survived by her son Jeffrey and partner Jyl Scott-Reagan, daughter Pamela Ledbetter and husband Jamie and daughter Dianne McWilliams and husband Danny. Peggy was an adoring grandma to Samantha Martin and husband Scott,  Elizabeth Tamez and husband Marc, Tab Ledbetter, Katie Letsos and husband Keith and Jenny Tucker. She was proud to be Great Grandma to Grayson and Merritt Tamez, Anne and Wade Martin, Tucker Mazza, Logan and Eden Letsos. 

A private family memorial service will be held in New York.
