Mary G. (Summerlin) Burks

Mary Geraldine Burks, 88, passed away peacefully in Houston, TX on July 8, 2018 to return to her heavenly home. Born and raised in Alabama, Mary moved with her family to Texas in 1967. She dedicated her life to her family and her cats, always making sure they were well taken care of. Mary loved to cook and feed anyone who came to her house, even the birds in her yard. Her "secret recipe" dressing was a staple at every Thanksgiving dinner. She also loved to clean, and until recently she kept busy doing these things she enjoyed.

She is preceded in death by her parents Lonnie and Myrtle Summerlin of Alabama, husband James Burks, and three of her sons, Ronnie Burson, Richard Lipscomb and Jimmy Burks. Mary is survived by her son Howard "Lynn" Lipscomb, her two daughters Jan Burks, Carol LeClair and her husband Rob LeClair, her granddaughters Lyndsay LeClair, Sarah Williams and her husband Jason, and Abby and Caitlin LeClair, as well as her great-grandsons Logan Williams and Jameson Jeffers.
