Mary Margaret Sosa was born July 9, 1948, in Houston, Texas she was the oldest daughter of Sabino and Lula Sosa. Being the first child and Mary was born with a silver spoon in her mouth, and could do no wrong. She grew up in east Houston and attended parochial school, as well as public school, where she constantly visited the principles office. She was active in the YWCA. 

Mary met a young United States Airman named Fred Leroy at a spring spectacular concert, and after a short courtship they were married. Once married Mary and Fred moved to San Antonio where Margie Jean would soon be born. Mary and Fred also moved to Spokane, Washington before finally returning to the Alief area where they settled, Sidney and Andrew were born soon after. Mary worked a Texas Instruments, as well as Bellaire General, and Brown and Root. She enjoyed Mardi Gras, gumbo, crawfish, traveling, casinos, cooking, family outings, music and dancing. Most of all she enjoyed her grandchildren, and she enjoyed being a Nanny to her nieces and nephews. 

Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Margie Jean Montoya, her parents, Sabino and Lula Sosa, her brother Michael Sosa, and her grandson Steven Diosdado. 

Surviving to cherish her memories are her two sons, Sidney and Andrew Diosdado, her brothers, Johnny Sosa, Sabino Sosa, David Sosa, and Kenneth Silman, her sisters, Alice Sosa, Della Martinez, and Norma Davila, grandchildren: Luis Montoya, Sabrina Diosdado, Sidney Diosdado, Savannah, Sartin, Justin Sandlin, and Joshua Diosdado, her great- grandchildren, Daniel, David, and Marcial Peña, and Gabriella Melgar, as well as numerous neices, nephews, cousins, two aunts, friends and neighbors. Margie knew her Lord and Savior and sough refuge and peace in him. Everyone will miss her phone calls, storytelling and laughter.
