Michael Joseph Dineen, 63, passed peacefully away on July 18, 2017 in his home in Houston, TX. Michael or Mike as he was known by his friends and family, was born in Syracuse, NY to William and Isabella Dineen on January 14, 1954. An avid skier, one could usually find Mike on the slopes during fresh powder days blowing down moguls…. or teaching toddlers how to ski. Not only could he ski, Mike loved playing in his band 7th Revolution, serenading the neighbors with their not so quiet music daily. After a small stretch of teaching overseas in Europe, Mike came back to the States where he found his true passion in Geology. Mike obtained his Bachelors Degree in Geology at Brockport State in Brockport, New York followed by obtaining a Masters in Geology at North Carolina State. It was traveling down this path that eventually led Mike to meet and fall in love with his wife Patricia (Taffy) Dineen. A new job in New Orleans working as a geologist in the oilfields of the Gulf of Mexico would set the foundation for his family. Mike became a father on January 19, 1988 welcoming Charles into the world and two years later would complete the family on May 30, 1990 welcoming Joseph in. A growing career would take Mike to Lafayette and eventually to Houston. It was in Houston that Mike built and grew his family. Some of Mike’s best times were in the deer blind watching his sons shoot their first buck, pulling over on the side of the road on family trips to look for interesting rocks, or relaxing and watching the sunset with his wife at the lake. Mike was predeceased by his father and mother, William and Isabella Dineen, and is survived by his wife Patricia aka Taffy, sons Charles (Jamie), and Joseph, granddaughter Katherine Grace, brother William Dineen (Jane) of Tucson, AZ, and sisters Katherine Balduzzi (Ronald) of Baldwinsville, NY, Nancy Vianny (Ed) of Ranford, CT, and Janet Nelson (Scott) of Deep River, CT.
