Tribute

On March 15, 2023, Michael Angelo McNeill, son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great friend to many, was called home to heaven. Michael was born July 26, 1956 in Fayetteville, North Carolina to the late Wendell Herman and Willie Pearl Sims McNeill. At an early age, Wendell moved his family to Waco, Texas where Michael would complete school before enlisting in the United States Army in 1975.

Upon completion of his service, Michael returned to Texas, he now called Houston home. Little did he know, in 1989 his life would change for the better, and forever when he met the lovely Ms. Barbara Ann Bratcher. After three short years of courtship, on March 8, 1992, Michael and Barbara were joined in holy matrimony. In this union, there were four sons, Brandon, Micah, David, and Torrey.

Michael was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan, however every once in a while Barbara could convince him to cheer for the Houston Texans (as long as they weren’t playing the Cowboys). He worked diligently for Exxon Mobile for over 20 years in their security department, and he was finally able to retire in 2021. Michael loved movies, walking, spending time with his children, but above all he was a devoted husband, and a Man of God.

Awaiting his arrival in heaven are his parents, Wendell Herman McNeill, and Willie Pearl Sims McNeill.

Surviving to honor his memories are his wife; Barbara Ann Bratcher McNeill, his sons; Brandon Williams (Juliet), Micah McNeill, David Bratcher, and Torrey Scales (Gloria), daughter-in-law; Apryl Portillo, brothers; Demitrius McNeill (Ruby Jean) and Dwayne McNeill, sisters; Ellie McNeill, Lois Carter, and Denise Pickens Lee, Grandchildren; Kiley Scales, Karrey Scales, Jayden McNeill, and Kanen McNeill, Neices; Natasha (Mama Katie) Carter, Bridgett McNeill, Angel Harris, Shemika Hopwood, Sara Jackson, Rakesha McNeill, Abby Woods, Courtney Barnes, Chynia Calloway, Chalice Calloway, and Laresha Monroe, nephews; Marquette Carter, Marcus Carter, Trae Pickens, Kurtis McNeill, Elton Barnes, Jr. and Jonathon Woods, special friends; Ricky Miller, Adrian Miller, and Officer Horton, and an abundance of extended family and friends.
