Michael E. Tannehill, 60, died on October 2, 2020.
Michael Tannehill was born on April 19, 1960 in Pasadena, Texas to Wilfred Tannehill and Geraldine Turner. As we all know from the many stories told by Mike, he was incredibly proud of the colorful life he lived. Between the 20 years of Merchant Marine life and his time spent working for Nasa on the Space Shuttle Program, Mike could always liven up a conversation with anyone. Mike was the person to talk to any stranger on the street, a cashier that gave him the time of a day, or one of his kids at 8am on a Saturday morning. He was the friendliest person in a room, and he made sure those around him felt welcomed in any event. Aside from his storytelling, Mike also loved deer hunting, fishing, woodworking, casinos, cooking, a good beer, and his dogs. Oftentimes, you could find Mike sitting in a rocking chair or standing at the grill, beer in hand, with Siberia and Nala by his side. As he would often say, he loved his dogs more than most people. No one here should doubt that.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, Danny and Jeff. He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Karen Tannehill, his son, Zechariah Tannehill and wife Amanda and grandson Hunter, his daughter, Meaghan Tannehill and fiancé Luis Argueta, and his sister Kimberly Tannehill Hagler loyal dogs, Siberia and Nala.
In lieu of the usual remembrances, Mr. Tannehill’s family requests that memorials may be made to St.
Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The family thanks you for your time spent in Mike’s life. While he was a wild one, he was a good man, father, husband, and friend.
