Michelle Marie Clegg

On Thursday, August 31, 2023, Michelle Marie Clegg, devoted wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away at the age of 56 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She was the oldest of the two children born to Marlan and Judy (Stoffel) Nienhuis on July 13, 1967 in Vicenza, Italy. Michelle grew up in El Paso, Texas with her mother and spent a lot of time in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with her father. She moved to Houston, Texas in 1990 to be closer to her father and step-mother after her mother passed away. She worked in banking for over 20 years. She loved to cook, host parties, watch football, and spend time with her family and friends. Her children and grandchildren were the greatest joys in her life. She was a bright light to anyone who knew her. There wasn’t a person she met who didn’t immediately feel loved and cared for by her. She was overwhelmingly generous, thoughtful, and kind, which made a lasting impact on so many. 

Left to cherish her memories is loving husband Rich Canfield, children Morgan Richards and husband Ryan Richards, J.T. Clegg and girlfriend Lilly Narducci, Julia Clegg and boyfriend Josh Fuller, and stepson Nick Canfield; grand children Dashel Richards and Grant Richards; step mother Donna Malone and her husband Steve Malone; brother Michael Nienhuis and wife Michelle Nienhuis, sister Kristen Brown, and brother Stephen Denney and wife Carey Denney. Nieces Claire Burditt, Avery Denney, Melissa Nienhuis and nephews Blake Brown, Jackson Denney, Kyle Denney, and Mathew Nienhuis. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother in law Ted Brown. 

She is gone but never forgotten, leaving her loving memories in our hearts forever.
