Mildred (Brown) McCollough

Mildred McCollough passed away at 11:55pm, Wednesday, January 20, 2021 to be with her Lord and Savior. She was 87 years old.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sid McCollough, her parents, Leroy Brown Sr. and Dollie Brown Myers, sisters, Dorothy Green, Helen Jean King, Louise Boney, and brothers, Aaron Brown and Leroy Brown Jr. She is survived by her children, Wayne Lamson (and wife Sheryl), Leonard Lamson (and wife Sharon), Justin Lamson (and wife Sissy), and Judy Lamson Hunter (and husband Joe, Sr), her brother Earl Brown (and wife Brenda) and sisters Myra Murry and Edith Malone, her grandchildren, Milli Doyle, Kirk Lamson, Josh Lamson, Becky Lamson, Russell Lamson, Joe Hunter, Jr. and Paige Lamson, numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, extended family members and friends.

Mildred loved attending church, classic country music, gardening, her animals and fast cars. She worked in the banking industry for many years and enjoyed working at Sam Houston Race Park even after retirement.

She and Sid raised bromeliads and enjoyed a trip to Hawaii while members of the Bromeliad society. They also had many aquariums of fish they raised for years.

Visitation is Tuesday, January 26, 2021 from 4:00 - 6:00pm at Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral Home, 9926 Jones Rd., Houston TX 77065.

Her funeral service will be at 10:00am on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, followed by a graveside service at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston TX at 12:00 pm. Pastor Mike Lehew will officiate.

Pallbearers will be her sons, Leonard Lamson and Justin Lamson, and her grandsons, Kirk Lamson, Josh Lamson, Russell Lamson and Joe Hunter, Jr.
