"Ms. Debbie" Stephens

Debra Stephens was born Jun 24, 1953 to Lillie Griffin and Daddy Joe in Chicago, Illinois. She was the second of three siblings.

She gave her life to Christ at a young agin.

She was a part of the singing group called “The Velvelets.” At the age of 16, she gave birth to Sherriece Ellis, who preceded her in death. At the age of 18, she gave birth to Lymohn Ellis. At age 24, she gave birth to LaQuiana Ellis. In 1987, she married Arthur Wilson and born to their union was LaKeesha Wilson-Collins.

Debbi attended Calumet High School and obtained her diploma from Central YMCA in 1971. She graduated from the Computer Learning Center in 1984. She continued her career at First Business School and went on to IBM. Entrepreneurship was in her blood. Under the mentorship of Johnny Trigg, CPA, she began Ebony Management Services. She later went on to launch North Vibe Bar and Grill her latest business, Art by Debbie.

In  2002, she remarried Derrick Stephens. Debbie loved dacing, shopping, vacationing and spending time with her family.

On October 27, 2021 the Lord called her home to rest. Debbie leaves many memories to her husband Derrick; her children, LyMohn (Gingle), LaQuiana and LaKeesha (Byron); twelve grandchildren, Ashley, Andrew, ShaMohn, Mariah, Quinton, (Kiera), MaKeeah, Makailah, KyLohn, Byron Jr., Ezekiel, Lillie, Le’Akai; two siblings, Marcia (Johnathon) and Reynaldo; four nieces, Tarneice (Jon), Kyla, Alejandra, and Maricela; the great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
