Nelson was born on June 06, 1949 in Guanabacoa, Cuba. He immigrated to the United States in 1980. He settled in New Orleans, Louisiana where he met the love of his life and his best friend Olga Medina. In 2011 Nelson moved to Texas and made Houston his new home.
He was humanitarian by nature, and hard-working. His sense of humor and laughter were contagious. He adored his family more than anything. He was the type of person that could find a solution for every problem. His philosophy was that the only matter that could not be solved was death, however he always said, “everyone has to die of something.” That was a frequent reply he gave to his family as well as his doctors.
He enjoyed cooking, loved to watch boxing and being outdoors. He is survived by his wife Olga Medina, his two grandsons Scott Truxillo, Jr. and Alex Truxillo, his sister Sonia Medina, and his daughter and son-in-law Yoexys and Scott Truxillo.
Funeral services will be held at: Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral home, 9926 Jones Road, Houston, Texas 77065. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. followed Catholic prayer service. The burial will take place at the Texas historical marker of Carmen Nelson Bostick Cemetery in Tomball Texas.
