Norma Jean (Pereira) Gabriel

Norma Jean Pereira Gabriel passed away on February 3, 2020.  Norma was born November 27, 1930 in Houston, Texas to Eugene O. Pereira and Pauline M. Pereira, the oldest of six children.  She was a lifelong resident of Cypress, Texas, where she and her husband Frank owned and operated a dairy for 40 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband Frank G. Gabriel, Sr., daughter Paula J. Gabriel Donaho, daughter Carolyn A. Gabriel, brother Kenneth Pereira, sister Betty Gabriel, parents Eugene O. Pereira and Pauline M. Pereira.

Norma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She dedicated her life to her children.  While her children were growing up she spent many hours volunteering at the local school district helping children learn to read.  She was involved in the PTA, serving as Secretary, Treasurer and President, for many years.  She attended many meetings at the State and National level.  She loved crossword puzzles, reading, watching movies, and painting Christmas houses.

She is survived by her sister Eleanor A. Gabriel, brother Marvin Pereira, brother Gene Pereira; and by her children Jimmy W. Gabriel and wife Sharon, Karen Stevenson and husband Timothy, Linda Flores, Frank G. Gabriel, Jr, David Gabriel, Janet Weimann and husband Michael, Mary K. Johnston and husband Robert, Susan E. Cook and husband Albert, 23 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
