Olga Emida Sanchez-Acosta Medina

Olga Emida Sanchez-Acosta Medina, passed away peacefully April 30, 2021 due to heart failure. She was born July 27, 1935 in Oriente, Cuba to Luis Agustin Sanchez and Santa Acosta. She married the eternal love of her life and best friend Nelson Norberto Medina who preceded her in death in September of 2018. Also preceded in death by her eldest son, Ramon Ramirez in April 1982.

Olga loved to love on people. She was a passionate, kind, resilient, and prudent woman with a servant heart. She wore many hats throughout her employment years, but her favorite was being a seamstress.  

Her personal philosophy which she instilled in all of her children and grandchildren was “Do what’s right and do what’s good. Be kind and help others. The world can always use one more kind person. And if you can take it one step further, please do what you can to help whomever you can.”

Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”

Olga is survived by her brothers Santiago Sanchez-Acosta, Alejandro Campos-Acosta, her sisters, Ester Llanes-Acosta, and Gudelia Sanchez-Acosta. Her children Yoexys Ilaisa Hernandez Truxillo (Scott), Jorge Julian Ramirez, Angel Luis Ramirez (Julie), Felipe Ramirez, and Olga Berta Ramirez Herrera. Her grandchildren, Scott Christopher Truxillo, Jr. (Lauren), Alex Scott Truxillo (Abigail), Felipe Ramirez (Mayra) Yoxmara Ramirez, Mayelin Lopez (Cesar), Lilyan Ramirez, Julian Ramirez, Julie Ann Hart (Barry), Jennifer Marie Penisson, (Julian) Wendy Lynn Ramirez Cambre (Brandon), and Ramon Ramirez. Great grandchildren, Amelia Rose Truxillo, Justin Luis Hart, Jade Marie Penisson, Jonathan Joseph Penisson, Jacob James Penisson, Lucia Ramirez, Abigail Grace Cambre, Michael Alexander Cambre, Austin William Hart, Magdaline Lopez, Xavier Lopez, and many nieces and nephews.

All of these she loved and touched deeply.

A visitation will be held at 1:00 PM prior to her service.  Please join us celebrating her life and our final goodbye at 2:00 PM Friday, May 7, 2021.  The Rite of Committal will follow at Carmen Nelson Bostick Historic Cemetery.
