Patricia "Pat" Anne Deer

Patricia (Pat) Anne Deer was born on December 20, 1943 to Margaret and Walter Jennings. She passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on February 25, 2021.

Pat was born in Brooklyn, NY, lived in West Islip, NY and then moved to Houston, TX in 1977, which she said was the best thing that ever happened to her.

Pat was the proud mother of 4 children; Thomas Beck, George Beck Jr., Patricia Smith, and Rhiannon Deer. She met her husband, Thomas (Tom) P. Deer in 1984 and loved him dearly since the day they met. They were married for more than 35 years and she always said, Tom was the love of her life and they broke the mold when they made him! She loved to dance the night away with Tom. 

While living in New York, Pat’s first job was working in a meat market. As she raised her children, she was able to fulfil her dream of becoming a nurse. She always loved helping everyone she could. She always talked about nursing school and what a great time she had, making longtime friends until this day.

While living in Houston, TX she worked for several doctors' offices. She enjoyed dancing, boating, water skiing, camping, and swimming. She had many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and family that she loved greatly. Pat enjoyed having them over to entertain in her swimming pool. She was always the center of attention and everyone loved coming to her house for those “pool parties”. She also enjoyed and was known for her many wind chimes, bird feeders, and flower gardens, and had quite the “green thumb.”

Pat was a loving wife, mother, grandmother “Momo”, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be missed dearly by many.

Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband Tom; children Thomas Beck, George Beck, Jr (Margaret), Patricia Smith (Tye), Rhiannon Deer (Harry Clark).  Grandchildren: Angela Beck, Crystal Mitcham (Andrew), Christina Beck (Barry Jenkins), Carl Smith (Juliana Schmidt), George Beck IV (Aleisha), Samantha Castro (Ray), Amanda Thornton (Chris), Anthony Beck (Michaela), Kyle Beck, Thomas Beck, Jr., Tye-Ray Smith (Hannah), Tabitha Valdez (Ruben), Avery Clark, Charley Clark, and Harry Clark. Great Grandchildren: Waylon Mitcham, Madyson Knehr, Wyatt Mitcham, Barry Jenkins, Jr., Christian Jenkins, Colton Beck, Annabelle Castro. Her siblings: John Jennings, Arthur Jennings (Justine), Martha Combe (William), Michael Jennings (Doris). Nieces and Nephews: John Jennings Jr., Kathleen Jennings, Michael Jennings, Jr., Dawn Kilgore, Bryan Jennings, Dylan Jennings, and Thomas Jennings, Jr. And her long time, loving friend Julie Loder. 

She is preceded in death by Brother Thomas Jennings, Sisters Jeanine Jennings and Mary Anne Jennings, Father Walter Jennings, and Mother Margaret Jennings.

She is gone but never forgotten, leaving her loving memories in all our hearts forever.
