On August 15, 2019, Paul Richard Sidgreaves, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 65.
A long-time Texan and resident of Cypress, Paul was originally a New Englander, born in Framingham, Massachusetts on September 4, 1953. The first of six children born to parents Richard Sidgreaves and Rhea (Brisebois) Sidgreaves, Paul was a natural entrepreneur. He started young as a newspaper delivery boy, and over the years built a thriving business that spanned several major housing complexes in Springfield, Massachusetts.
After graduating from Ludlow (Mass.) High School, Paul saw great opportunity in Houston’s oil boom and relocated there in the 1970s to put his creative energies to work. Paul launched a series of businesses – air conditioning repair, antique clothing, and rare building artifacts – before starting a career in the medical administration field. He spent nearly 30 years contributing to people’s wellbeing as part of Houston’s medical community, most recently at MD Anderson.
Paul loved spending time with his family, enjoyed Houston’s many fairs and festivals, and loved to surprise people with gifts, cards and articles he’d find in his continuous reading of newspapers and magazines. He was outgoing and friendly, always engaging strangers and transforming them into friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Ann Maria Sidgreaves; his son, Paul Richard Sidgreaves, Jr.; his daughter, Rhea Ballard; his mother, Rhea Sidgreaves; siblings Gary Sidgreaves, Ann Mills, Carol Carey, Robert Sidgreaves, and Ronald Sidgreaves; his nieces and nephews, Andrea Parrott, Lauren Lefebvre, Adam Smith, Parker Mills, Ben Mills, Michelle Carey, Albert Carey and Daniel Carey.
Friends, neighbors and co-workers are warmly invited to a viewing at 1 p.m., Saturday, August 24, at Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral Home, 9926 Jones Road, Houston, TX 77065. A service will be held at 2 p.m.
