Peggy Atrelle (Hyden) Willock

Peggy Atrelle Hyden Willock, born June 14, 1921, died on February 2, 2019 at the age of 97. Peggy was born and raised in Hemphill in East Texas. She was dedicated to her family and enjoyed sewing and gardening. She worked for 20 years as a Financial Aid Officer for the UTHSC (University of Texas Health Science Center) where she enjoyed giving each student personalized guidance. Peggy lost her husband early in her long life so she lived on her own for 53 years in both the Bellaire and Copperfield areas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence W. Willock, her parents, her sister Joyce Hyden, her brother Blackshear Hyden and her sister Willie Ruth George.

She is survived by her daughter, Paula A. Willock Stewart and husband Duane, his children Erin Stewart and Tony Gerdom and both of their families. She is also survived by a nephew, Bruce Hyden, his wife Jeanne and their family.

She was a blessing to everyone who knew her so, though she will be missed, they can be comforted in the knowledge that she is now with God and her husband in a better place.
