Petra Cardenas

Petra Cardenas, 63, passed away on May 12, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 18, 1958 to Santiago and Elidia Rodriguez. Petra was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Petra spent many hours giving her heart to others in their time of need, and many times put others needs before her own.  She was unconditionally selfless, and will always be remembered for her huge heart, beautiful smile, contagious laugh, and endless devotion to her family.  She expressed her love for her family with her cooking and spending time with them making memories.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Santiago and Elidia Rodriguez; sisters Elidia Garza, Eva Perez and brother, Ramiro Rodriguez.

Petra is survived by her husband Alfredo Cardenas, children, Michael (Michelle) Iruegas, Patricia (Justin) Iruegas, Danny Cardenas (Victoria), Tiffany Cardenas (Emilio) and Alfredo Cardenas Jr.; 16 grand-children, 1 great grand-child;  sisters, Yolanda (Mark) Gee, Oralia (Frank) Lopez, Sylvia (Javier; deceased) Mancillas, Sandra (Del) McCool, Lisa (Eric) Johnson, brother, Santiago (Wendy) Rodriguez Jr., numerous nieces and nephews.

Petra will be in our hearts forever and she will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
