On Monday, May 15, 2023, Porfilio “Pilo” Eligorio Veletzuy, loving father, grandfather, uncle, and brother passed away at age 70. He was born on April 16, 1953 to Emilio Veletzuy and Nicolasa Perez Bac in La Esperanza, Guatemala. He grew up in La Esperanza and eventually moved to Houston to find a better opportunity. He took care of and raised show dogs for a few years before working at Powell Control for many years. He later worked at Pizza Hut and finally settled at AutoZone for over 20 years. He loved to work on his yard, build furniture, fix things around his home, watch westerns and international television. But most of all, he loved cooking for and spending time with his family. Especially his grandchildren.
Left to carry on his memory are his four boys: Leonardo and wife Morgan; Josue; Moises and wife Emily; and Franco. His beloved grandchildren: Carter, Kirby, Mila, Cooper, Amelia, and Victoria. His siblings: Anselmo, Teresa, Rosa, Rolando, Antonieta, Miguel Floridalma, Josefina, Efrain, Olga and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Emilio, mother, Nicolasa, and brother, Luis.
He may be gone but he will never be forgotten, leaving his stories and unique sense of humor in our hearts to cherish forever.
The family kindly asks in lieu of flowers, for donations to be made to the family for his hospitalization and funeral services.
