On Sunday, August 7, 2022, Praveen Alwyn Francis Aranha, devoted son, husband, and father, passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Praveen was born in Mangalore, India on January 29th, 1969, to parents Henry and Cecilia Aranha. He grew up and went to school in Mumbai, India, Doha, Qatar, and Moffat, Scotland.
He came to the United States in 1988 to study at the University of Oklahoma (OU) in Norman, Oklahoma. He met his wife, Lupe, while studying at OU. Lupe and Praveen married in 1996. They have two beloved children, Diego and Citlali.
He is survived by his parents, Henry and Cecilia Aranha, his wife, Lupe Aranha, his children, Diego and Citlali Aranha, his brother Jeevan Aranha (wife Priti Aziz), and brother Naveen Aranha (wife Gracia D’Souza), sister Sharan D’Souza (husband Cyrus D’Souza), and several nieces and nephews.
Praveen cherished his family and friends. He left a deep and lasting impression on all those that knew him. Praveen was loved by so many and will forever be in our hearts.
At Praveen’s request, his body will be cremated and scattered into the ocean, where he always found peace and solace.
