Raymond R Cabrera passed away and went to be with the Lord in Houston Texas on December 23, 2018 at 12:03 A.M. at the age of 77.
Raymond is preceded in death by his parents George and Maria Luisa Cabrera Sr. He is survived by his three children, Raymond R. Cabrera Jr, Penny Lee Price, Shelly Lynn Flores and his three brothers George Cabrera Jr, Mike Cabrera and Jimmy Cabrera.
Raymond was born in Fieldton Texas on August 23,1941. Raymond attended Muleshoe High school. After High school he worked in the grocery industry as a butcher and owned a meat market in Monahans Texas. Raymond eventually moved his family to the Houston area where he became a Produce Manager for Randalls Grocery store until he retired.
Raymond is lovingly remembered by his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Raymond enjoyed life to the fullest and loved wearing his cowboy hats and top hats. Raymond was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan. Raymond loved to cook and is considered by many as the original pit master, he loved to sit outside barbequing and socializing with a cold one.
Raymond enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was the life of the party. Raymond’s passion in life was barbequing. Raymond enjoyed playing poker, dancing, fishing, hunting deer and looking for arrowheads.
Raymond enjoyed Clint Eastwood and John Wayne movies, Zydeco, country, mariachi, and corridos music. You would find him at the Crawfish Festival in Oldtown Spring, dancing, drinking and enjoying the zydeco music and the people.
Raymond was a very proud person and always stood his ground and never backed down from anything or anyone and he will be greatly missed by everyone.
