Raymond (Ray) Garcia has been placed in the hands of the Lord this day, February 7, 2021, at the age of 81.
Raymond was born February 15, 1939, and was a resident of Houston, TX. He was preceded in death by his father, Monico Garcia, and his mother, Lucy. He is survived by his children, Regina Ardito and husband, Perry; Veronica Castillo and husband, Robert; Ray Garcia, Jr. and wife, Heather; grandchildren, Michelle, Michael, Nicholas and Elizabeth; his great grandchildren, Jalyssa and Adam. He is survived by his brother, Romeo, and sister, Rachel; preceded in death by his brother, Nick; and his sisters, Nora and Lillian.
He was a hunter, fisherman, handyman, carpenter, and an all-around jack-of-all trades. He spent most of his life as a top machinist and could make just about anything in the industry. He loved watching sports, good ole’ western movies, and poker tournaments. His passion was listening, and dancing, to country music.
He was feisty and had a dry sense of humor, as he continued to question the doctors and nurses as they tended to him. He also cracked jokes with them. That sense of humor carried on up until the last days of his life. He made us all smile and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Thank you to all the doctors and nurses associated with the CHI St. Luke’s Health hospitals (Vintage and The Woodlands), as well as the Kelsey-Seybold Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center. A special thank you to the staff at Harbor Hospice who were extremely caring, thoughtful and patient with him throughout his journey.
There will be no service at his request. Donations may be made to the MDS Foundation in his name. You may go online at www.mds-foundation.org or you may mail a check to: The MDS-Foundation, 4573 Broad St., Suite 150, Yardville, NJ 08620.
