Tribute

Robin Browning Wiles, age 57, was ushered to her ethereal home on September 24th, 2021, after a bravely-fought battle against Covid-19.

Robin, the most perfect of Mother’s Day gifts, was born on May 11th, 1964 in Detroit, Michigan to Lionel and Celeste Wiles.

Full of light, love, and genuine kindness; Robin radiated a bright, bold, and sparkling energy amongst everyone she encountered.  Never one to remain idle for long, Robin possessed an astounding ability to learn and master every hobby, craft or musical instrument she chose.  Her latest passions included playing her hammered dulcimer with the North Harris County Dulcimer Society, beading, knitting, crocheting, sewing, painting rocks, playing flute, listening to music, attending music festivals and camping.

At the time of her passing, Robin was the coordinator of Business Operations for the Texas Children’s Hospital Cancer and Hematology Center in addition to working with their Leukemia program and the Center for Advanced Innate Cell Therapy.  Her friends/co-workers were very dear to her and her family would like to express a special thank you for the kindness and love shown by all of them in the remembrance of our sweet girl.

It was within her children and grandchildren, Robin found her True North and it was within her folksy, free-spirited, child-like nature, they were blessed to have found theirs.  Robin started nearly every sentence with a special memory she had shared with her children and grandchildren and with all of the strength she could summon, her final words professed the immense joy and genuinely pure happiness they had filled her heart and her life with.

Robin is survived by her son, Nicholas Brown; daughter, Katie Most (Zach); her grandchildren, Kaleigh Brown, Sawyer Brown, Wyatt Brown and Jackson Most; her mother, Celeste Rogers; her siblings Lisa Horsch (Jamie), Wendee Johnson (Dave), Tim Wiles (Jen); nephew and niece, Zack and Zoe Horsch; and very dear friend, Daniel Sample.  Robin was preceded in death by her father, Lionel Wiles.

In keeping with her parting wishes, Robin will be cremated and her family and friends will gather to celebrate her life by attending the Lone Star State Dulcimer Festival, held on Mother’s Day weekend in 2022.
