“My Boogie”
Rodger to some, Alan to others, grew up in the Woodville, Texas area, and graduated from Colmesneil High School in 2005; where he had been active in Farm, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Culinary activities. He worked in the mechanical service industry over the past years for Joe Meyers Toyota, Lone Star Chevrolet, Honda of Houston, Mueller Environmental, Camping World, and most recently for Westside Chevrolet, near Katy, TX, and just moved from the Vehicle Service Support Group to the Collision & Repair Service Department as a Service Writer. Alan enjoyed many outdoor and travel activities: Fishing and boat repair with Grandpa C.J.; Camping on the Frio River and trekking to Colorado with Michael-Jo; cooking with Grandma Alice; four-wheeling and vacation cruises with Anthony, Tricia, and Brittany; and, family gatherings - all of these activities side-by-side and inseparable from his life-partner, and spouse, Kenny. He loved his ‘rescued’ cats Ms. Pearl, Lucky (MeowMeow), and Mittens. He took such pride in keeping his truck and toys in A-1 condition and caring for and decorating the home. Any customer or neighbor or co-worker he met started a new permanent friendship.Rodger Alan is survived by his loving 11 year life-partner and spouse, Kenneth Alan Wilson; his father Nick Dowdy and wife Carol Ann; his mother Kim and her husband Michael-Jo Dickerson; his brother Justin and nephew Jax Dowdy; grandparents Alice and C.J. Smith, and, Vivian and Rodger Alan Richardson; and many other loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, along special friends and buddies Anthony, Tricia and Brittany Dowler, and Stanley Cooper.
Rodger Alan will be truly missed and loved by all who knew or met him. May he rest now in peace.
In lieu of flowers, donations to crisis prevention services in name of Rodger Alan Dowdy-Wilson would be appreciated.
