Roger Clay Stone

Roger Stone passed away on June 29, 2022 at Providence hospital in Waco Texas. He was surrounded by his loving family, and friends.

Roger was born May 7, 1951 to Frances Simmons Goodrich in Ben Hur, Texas. December 1970, he listed in the United States Air Force, where he was ranked as an E4 Buck Sergeant at the time of his discharge in December 1973. While serving in the US Air Force he met the love of his life Patricia Shenefield, they married July 8, 1972 in Florida. On December 4, 1973 they expanded their family when their first daughter Jennifer Rebecca Stone was born, they decided this wasn’t enough, and November 13, 1979 they were blessed with the youngest daughter Shawna Kelli.

Roger worked as head operator at HL&P for many years, he begin his career at HL&P in Pasadena Texas, and later moved to the Jewett location. Roger retired in 2004, after retirement he was able to enjoy the “PawPaw Life” with his six grandchildren, Sean, Colby, Christopher, Caeden, Michael, and Macey, and his great-granddaughter My’Kelle (Mykah). Roger loved working on cars, fishing, hunting, and gardening.

Roger is preceded in death by his mother, Frances Goodrich, father, Clyde “Punk” Goodrich, and his grandson, Michael Ray Brooks Jr.

Surviving to his cherished memories are his wife of 49 years, Patricia Stone, his daughters, Jennifer Stone Brooks (Michael), and Shawna Stone, grandchildren, Sean Casarez (Baylie), Colby Casarez, Christopher Thomas, Caeden Thomas, Macey Brooks, great granddaughter, My‘Kelle, brothers, David Stone (JoAnn), Michael (Tricia) Stone, and Alan (Marcy) Goodrich, sister, Elaine (Mike) Lagasse, as well as numerous other family members and friends.
