Romanita “Rome” Chapa, age 77, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017, in Houston, Texas.

Romanita, a native Houstonian, was born April 26, 1940 to Lazaro and Clorinda Quiroz.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Julian Chapa III, sons Julian Chapa IV and Stephen Chapa. Rome leaves to cherish her memory: children, Clorinda Cantu and husband Carlos, her son Thomas Chapa and wife Amanda; grandchildren, Beatriz Chapa, Stephanie Gallegos, Eric Cantu, Louis Chapa, Andrea Chapa and Jonathan Chapa; and her great grandson, Joseph Cantu.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 25th from 5-8 PM at Cypress Fairbanks Funeral Home 9926 Jones Road, Houston, TX 77065, Vigil and Holy Rosary to start at 7 PM. A Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 26th at 11 AM at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 4918 Cochran St. Houston, TX 77009. Interment will follow at Houston National Cemetery.
