Rosalie Leone

Rosalie Leone, age 89, passed away on 3/10/2019 in Houston, Texas at Memorial Hermann Hospital. She was deeply loved, and in her final days she  had many friends and family members by her side. She was born on July 22, 1929 in Bremond, Texas to parents Eva and Joe Kowalski. She had six siblings; Leona, Virgie, Louis, Christine, William, and Johnny. 

She moved to Houston in her late teens. While working at Barbeque Inn, she met her best friend Claudia Flora, and many other friends.

She was a woman of faith and was a beautiful woman inside and out. She loved the Catholic Church, her Polish heritage, country music, singing, dancing, and cooking, especially for our Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations. 

She valued family above all else and looked forward to our Easter family reunion each year at Johnny, Nora, Thad, Patricia, or Virgie’s farm.  

She took great pride in her appearance, and even while in the hospital she'd apply her makeup and request that her hair was done. 

In her later years, her son Patrick was her caretaker at home, and she could not have received better care. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Patrick for the extreme attention and kindness he provided.  

She was a fighter throughout various health issues, and we never heard a complaint. She often surprised her doctors, nurses, family and friends with her strength and endurance. 

She is survived by her children; Patrick Leone, Mary Leone Boyer, Perry Leone,  grandchildren; Jennifer Boyer DeYoung, Cara Leone, Jamie King, Joan King, Jacquelyn King, Jillian Crutchfield, Samantha Montejano; many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.  She was preceded in death by her parents; Eva and Joe, two children; Gloria and Jay, and granddaughter; Natalie West.  

She will be greatly missed.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, March 14 at 5 PM in the chapel of Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral Home, with a rosary being recited at 7 PM.  The funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 15 at 11 AM at St. Jerome Catholic Church.
