Ruby Faye (Parks) Phillips, 87, passed away on February 1, 2024.  Faye’s family will hold a celebration of life on May 5, 2024 in Galveston, Texas.

Faye was born on May 7, 1936 in Baird, Texas to Benjamin Lewis Parks and Verma (Miller) Parks.  Faye graduated from Santa Anna High School in Santa Anna, Texas in 1953. She worked for General Services Administration (GSA) and ended her career as a Building Management Specialist for GSA, Region 7.  She oversaw the maintenance of all federal buildings in a five-state area: Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arkansas, and Louisiana.  She was the first woman to ever hold this position, and she retired from GSA on December 31, 1994.  Faye fiercely loved her sons Richard, Wade, Joe and James and devoted her life to providing for them.  She was a warrior mom who protected her boys.  There are no words or ways to thank her for all the sacrifices she made.  She will be forever cherished and greatly missed.  May the Lord shower her with every blessing.  Well done good and faithful servant.

Faye is survived by her son Richard Bass and wife Dava; son Wade Bass and wife Mary; son Joe Bass and wife Sheila; son James Bass and wife Robin; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

Faye was preceded in death by her husband James Phillips; parents Benjamin and Verma Parks; sisters Mackey Parks Tabor and Nell Parks Talley; and brother Don Parks.

The family would like to express their gratitude to her caregiver Karen Hughes.
