Salomon Dena Leos

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Salomon Dena Leos, lovingly known as “Papi” to family and friends, a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Friend. Papi was born in Mexico on October 02, 1928 and passed away on November 03, 2023 at the age of 95.

He is survived by the love of his life Rosantina “Lita”, Married 72 Years, 4 surviving children. Salomon R. Leos, Jorge L. Leos, wife Laurie B. Leos, Maricela R. Benz, husband John P. Benz, Gustavo R. Leos, wife Rafaela R. Leos; 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his sons Ricardo R. Leos, Eduardo Leos and his grandson Salomon Leos.

Papi and Lita were married on June 19, 1951. He and his young family moved to Houston in 1957. In 1966 Papi opened his tailor shop “Leos Custom Tailors” on Ella Blvd. in Oak Forest. The Tailor Shop was a fixture in the Heights and Oak Forest for the next 25 years

At age 62 after a second cancer diagnosis, he retired and closed the Tailor Shop. With the help of his strong faith, family and his tenacious spirit he again beat cancer. At age 71 he reopened his Tailor Shop and it remained open for the next 10 Years. 

Papi was a Mason for over 60 years a 33rd Degree Mason and was a member of The Masonic Lodge “Luz de Oriente No. 64”. He served as the Venerable Grand Master several different terms.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness that will forever be etched in our hearts.
