Salvatore Grillo

Sal Grillo passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018.

Sal was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 16, 1926 to Salvatore and Sophia Grillo. He met his first wife, Mary Kelly Grillo and married her on January 24, 1948.  They had six children and were happily married until Mary's death in 1990.  In 1993, he married Agnes Nocita Grillo, who died in 2016.  After Agnes' death, he moved to Cypress where he was lovingly cared for by his youngest son Edmund and Ed's family.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Anna Grillo Ardizzone; his son, Matthew Grillo; his granddaughter, Jacqueline Grillo and his grandson, Marc Grillo.

Sal is survived by five children: Kenneth Grillo, Mary Grillo Santora and her husband Al, Diane Grillo Theis and her husband Billy, Donna Grillo and her husband Sal Picone, and Edmund Grillo and his wife Simone.

He is also survived by his ten grandchildren: Michelle Busching, Lisa Santora, Karen Lowitz, Paul Raimondi, Jessica DiResta, Michael Grillo (Massachusetts), Jacob Grillo, Michael Grillo (Texas), Katie Grillo and Elisa Grillo and eight great-grandchildren: Patrick Busching, Caitlin Busching, Rocco Nguyen, Maia Nguyen, Kayla Raimondi, Paulie Raimondi, Vinny DiResta and Owen DiResta.

A small memorial service will be held by the family on Thursday afternoon, with private cremation to follow. He will be interred at Ocean County Memorial Park in Toms River, NJ, beside his wife Mary.
