Samuel Ibe

Samuel “Sam” Ibe, 37, passed peacefully on October 27, 2020, in Houston, Texas, after a courageous six week long battle with acute pancreatitis.  Sam is survived by his loving and devoted wife Lauren Fritz Ibe of Cypress, TX; mother Frances Ibe of Abuja, Nigeria; siblings Emeka Ibe of London, England; Dr. Robert Ibe of Zurich, Switzerland, Josh and wife Maggie Ibe of Houston, TX, Ada Ibe of London, England; and Emmanuel Ibe of London, England. Sam is also survived by his in-laws, Bernie and Tricia Fritz of Kerrville, TX; Chris and Janet Fritz of Sunrise Beach, TX; nephews/nieces Sabra Sissel; Wesley Sissel; Meagan Sissel; Connor Fritz and Chase Ibe.  He was preceded in death by his father Lucious Ibe. 

Sam was born on June 4, 1983, in Abuja, Nigeria, to parents Frances and Lucious Ibe.  The family moved to London when Sam was a baby.  After growing up in London, he moved to the United States to further his education by attending the University of Houston where he received his undergraduate degree in Finance and later earned his MBA.

Lauren and Sam were married on May 21, 2016 and were blessed with a happy marriage.  Sam was a loyal friend and devoted husband to Lauren.  It was rare to see one without the other.  They enjoyed spending time together and with family and friends.  He and Lauren both shared a competitive spirit especially when it came to their fantasy football leagues. 

When not cooking up a storm in the kitchen, you could find Sam watching a Manchester United football match.  He was an avid fan and rarely missed a game.  Sam will forever be remembered for his smile, humor, quick wit and awkward lingering hugs.  His uplifting spirit will truly be missed.

Celebration of Life
