Shannon Leigh Weyland, of Houston, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on February 9, 2020, at the age of 53.
Shannon is survived by his wife of 29 years, Chris (Friederich); his three sons, Jacob (27), Cody (24) and Conner (21); his mother, Patricia Weyland; his brother, Shane Weyland; his sister, Shea (Weyland) Vinavich; and nephews, Austin, Gabe, Cole, Owen, Alec, and Kaiden; his father and mother-in-law, JIm and Donna Friederich; his brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Glynis Friederich; and his niece and nephew, Ellie (Friederich) Holloway and Matt Friederich. He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Weyland and his
maternal and paternal grandparents.
Shannon was born May 5, 1966, in Geneseo, Illinois. He graduated from Cambridge High School followed by an associate’s degree in law enforcement from Black Hawk College. He married his high school sweetheart, Chris, and welcomed three boys, who were the most important part of his life. Shannon was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend. He enjoyed fishing, travelling, offroading, snorkeling, and scuba-diving. He had a very strong work ethic and worked for Wal-Mart for 35 years. He enjoyed coaching many of his son’s sports teams. He will be deeply missed by friends, family and all who knew him.
