On Saturday, May 29, 2021, Shirley Ann Wilson devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away from this earth to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 78. She was born in Orange, Texas, to Raymond Welch, Sr. and Willie Welch on February 19, 1943.
Shirley devoted her time to helping serve the children at Houston ISD for many years. She worked in the main office as a secretary for many years, then helped shuttle the kids as a bus driver, and then ventured into the classroom as a substitute teacher when needed. She enjoyed being around people and later on worked at Sam’s Club. Earlier years she could be found working with her husband when he ran Taylor Instruments in the Brazosport area.
Shirley is survived by her four children Briant Wilson (Sylvia), Robert Wilson Jr., Bettina Pettey (Billy) and Lisa Notgrass.
She is also survived by eleven grandchildren: Cody Wilson, Bradley Wilson, Roy McCullough, Robert Wilson III, Jessica Mutina (Justin), Debra Wilson, Sandy Adams (Chance), Charlie Sturtz (David), David Pettey, Savannah Notgrass, and Victoria Boykin (Delano), eleven great-grandchildren, sisters Marie Roberts, Betty Perryman, Patricia Meleski, Janette Brewer and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother Joe Welch, Parents Raymond Welch, Sr. and Willie Welch, brother Raymond Welch, Jr, husband of fifty-eight years Robert Edward Wilson, Sr., and grandson Calvin Robertson.
She is gone but never forgotten, leaving her loving memories in all our hearts forever.
