On Wednesday, September 14, 2022 Sonya Marie Bailey-Cauthen a devoted wife, mother and sister passed away at the age of 53. She was one of two children to Lula Mae Bailey and Richard Earl Griffin. She was born on September 11, 1969 in Beaumont Texas.
She gave her life to Christ and was Baptized as a teenager while she attended Greater Good Hope Baptist Church. Sonya grew up in Beaumont Texas and graduated from Central High School on May 30, 1988. She was a honor graduate, class treasurer and a part of the National Honor Society. She received a scholarship from Southern Educators and went on to attend Grambling State University that same year. During her time at Grambling State University, she was also a part of the Tiger marching band.
Later on she married Freddy Cauthen Junior her beloved husband. The couple met in Houston Texas where they welcomed a set of twins JaCayla R. Cauthen and JaCory R. Cauthen on March 15,1995. Ten years later she delivered their youngest son Jadon R. Cauthen on September 16, 2005.
She was employed by the AutoZone corporation for the last eight years. She was a loyal and dedicated employee. Her bubbly personality made her a joy to work with and contagious laughter could be felt as she walked into the room. She never met a stranger.
Her absence on this earth will be missed but, the impact she’s made will live on through our hearts and memories. Sonya Marie Bailey -Cauthen lived a rich and fulfilled life as she danced and laughed as if it was the last time. She cherished Her husband, loved her kids unconditionally, respect her parents and adored her sisters.
Left to cherish her memories are Freddy Cauthen Jr. (Husband) JaCayla R. Cauthen(Daughter) JaCory R. Cauthen Jadon R. Cauthen(Sons) Richard Earl Griffin (Father) Shareefah L. Bailey, Vicky Smith (Sisters) Jeffery Smith (Brother) Julia Thomas (Mother-in Law) Dinah Graham (Sister-in-Law) Rosa L Price, Lillian Bailey, Linda Bailey (Aunties) host of Nieces, Nephews, Family and Friends.
She preceded in death by her loving Mother Lula Mae Bailey.
She is gone but never forgotten, leaving her loving memories in our hearts forever.
