Steven Douglas Parent

Steven Douglas (Steve) Parent, age 55, of Houston, Texas, passed away on Sunday, September 26th at North Cypress Hospital in Houston.

Funeral services for Steve Parent will be held on Saturday, October 9th at McClelland Community Church (between San Augustine and Shelbybville, Texas.)  Visitation will be at 12:00 PM followed by the funeral service at 1:00 pm Bro. Chris Collins and Bro. Jon Collins will officiate.  Interment at McClelland Community Cemetery.

Steve Parent was born August 3, 1966 in Santa Monica, Californian to Roger Parent and Doris Carriere.  As a teenager growing up in California, he was in Motorcross.  Steve graduated in Simi Valley, California, then attended U.C.L.A College. 

On December 20, 2020, Steve married Janalyn (Jan) Hess at McClelland Community Church.  He was a loving husband, and loyal attendant of the Met, a non-denominational church in Houston.

He is survived by his wife, Jan Parent of Houston, Texas, step-son Derek Ferrell of Houston, Mother-in-law Dorothy (Doy) Hess of McClelland Community, his father Roger Parent of Simi Valley, California, brother Michael Patent of Simi Valley, California, nephew Cameron Parent, nieces Summer, Brittney and Amanda Parent, special cousins Doreen Wescott and Darryl Carriere.  Also sister-in-law Colleen Carls and brother-in-laws Troy Hess and Roger Hess, and his lab “Kraken”, who he loved dearly.

Pallbearers will be Derek Ferrell, Tracy Wright, Troy Hess, Brian Collins, James Alvis and Cory Collins.
