Sue Elaine Griffith, age 84, most recently of Houston, TX, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2017 after a long illness and complications of dementia. Sue was a longtime resident of Nashville, TN with her late husband Pete Griffith, yet always loved Texas and more often than not called herself a Texan.

Born and raised in Michigan, Sue relocated to Houston, Texas in the mid-1950’s.  She married Pete Griffith in 1971.  They re-located to Nashville in 1978, residing in the Bellvue area of West Nashville until Pete’s death in December 2014.  Sue worked for several years at the Macy’s department store in Bellvue Mall, and both she and Pete were longtime members of Bellvue Baptist Church.      

She was preceded in death by her father Robert Harris; mother Cora B. Jones; husband Pete Griffith; brother Ed (Sonny) Jones; and sister Mildred Ladd. She is survived by her daughter Joyce Raiti and son-in-law Joe Raiti; son James Jones and daughter-in-law Karen Bobetic; grandson Austin Glenn Patchen Jr.; great-grandchildren Emma and Logan; niece Melanie Jones; nephews Mark Jones, Wes Jones, Tracy Jones and their families. 

The family wishes to thank the friends and caregivers at Village on the Park – Steeplechase and Brookdale Willowbrook Place in Houston.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
