Terry was a very talented actor; he had a lot of raw talent. While in college at University of Houston, Terry pursued liberal arts and engineering and continued to act after he moved to Los Angeles, CA. Once he moved back to Houston, he kept doing performances through many churches. He loved to golf and fish. He was a man of extreme regiments – home at the same time every day. He was into collecting items for his man cave. He loved cooking and used to do so all weekend long.
In CA, Terry worked at Failure Analysis which was a high-profile accident investigation. Terry investigated the Exxon Valdez spill to determine who was at fault and was a part of the team to determine how James Dean died. He was a lab rat who worked with crash test dummies and was always trying to make things safer. When Terry decided to start a family, he took his uncle’s job offer to move back to Texas and work at his family owned and run construction company. When he went back into product testing, he was working at Invetech, then Stork Laboratories which changed to Element Materials Technology. 4 separate companies bought where he worked for the last 20 years and maintained his position. He was in charge of Product and Non-Metallics, department manager of 2 divisions at once at Element. Terry survived the downturns and pitfalls of doing the same work for over 20 years.
Terry was known for his wit, sarcasm, and brutally honest humor. He was one of the best story tellers you’d ever come across. He had an extensive music library he was very proud of; he also ran the drama department at church. He was once known as the Scaffolding Testing Expert in North America.
He is survived by Mother Norma Wilt, brother Jerry Wilt who is married to Maryse with daughter Melanie. Wife Cathleen Wilt and his daughters Maddison Wilt and Lindsay Wilt Stanley who is married to Josh Stanley.
