Theresa Agnus Reis

Theresa Agnus Reis, known to everyone as Terry, left this life on May 28, 2021. Terry was born in Belfield, Guyana on December 13, 1950 to the late Henry Reis and Alice Reis and was the second of their seven children.

She was predeceased by her loving and only child, Victor. She will be fondly remembered by her grandson, Alec, who was her pride and joy; her siblings, Sonya, Errol, Joan, Stella, Edward, and David (Rico); many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, members of the Guyanese and Caribbean Community, the Diplomatic Corp, and her very best friend and soulmate, Randy.

Terry was a flight attendant with TWA and traveled to many parts of the world. She came to Houston when the airline moved its office here.

After her flying career was over, Terry went back to school, became a Real Estate Broker and later a Mortgage Broker. Subsequently, she formed her own company T.R. Reis Realtor and Mortgage Broker.

Terry served as the Guyana Consul in Texas for several years and was instru-mental in helping many with their immigration and adoption issues as well as forging business opportunities between Guyana and Houston business leaders. She was also a past president of the Guyanese Association of Greater Houston and a member of the Caribbean Chamber of Commerce.

Always the compassionate person, Terry was involved in many projects to bring relief to those in need. Several years ago, she spearheaded the project to send supplies to Guyana during a devastating flood. She also founded the Feed the Children program to provide meals for needy children in some rural areas of Guyana.

Terry was an independent and sociable soul. All her friends know that she loved dancing, cooking and entertaining and her home was the venue for many fun parties.

May she find peace and comfort in the bosom of her God.
