Tommye Lynn Wolverton

Tommye Lynn Wolverton passed away into the arms of her Lord on May 29th 2020.  She was born in Dallas, Texas on January 31st, 1945. Her family ended up in Houston in 1953 and she attended HISD schools and the University of Houston. After a few years in Austin she returned to Houston to marry William  A. Wolverton in 1967, and found much love in their marriage.

By 1976 she had settled into a quiet home in Northwest Harris County where she would forge an incredibly strong community bond through the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District. The neighbors and friends she found over more than 40 years in Cy-Fair truly defined her commitment to students, children and our community. She served on the school board from 1984 to 1990, and was a strong volunteer in many programs, as well as a 20-year employee at Region 4 Education Service Center before her retirement in 2013.  Faith in Jesus Christ was central to her life from the time she was a young child until she left this Earth. She was an active member of Westway Baptist Church and has many fond friends there.

She is survived by her three children, four grandchildren, sister, son in law and many loving friends and family members. A life well-lived.  Tommye would have appreciated donations to Cy-Fair Helping Hands, Westway Baptist Church, and the Houston Collie Rescue.
