On Tuesday, October 24, 2023, Valerie Lynn Fisk passed away at the age of 50 after a long battle with Metastatic Breast Cancer. She was a devoted wife, mother, and “Mimi”. Her family – husband, children, and grandchildren – were her main priority in life.
Valerie was born in Houston, Texas on May 9, 1973. She loved the city and lived there her entire life. She graduated from McArthur High School in 1991 and received her bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University in 2008. Valerie became a CPA in the State of Texas in 2015. She enjoyed her accounting work and the people she had an opportunity to work with.
Valerie was passionate about traveling. She was always excited to pull out her maps and plan a journey to exotic places. She had a fascination with different cultures and a true appreciation for understanding the things that make us all different from one another.
There was another passion in her life that far surpassed the others. She dearly loved spending time with her six grandchildren. They brought her so much joy and were the true light of her life. She loved each of them completely and unconditionally.
Left to cherish her memory are:
Her husband: Eric Fisk
Her children: Jonathan Mills, Kirsten Mills and husband Mitchell Johns,
Bradley Fisk, Mattison Fisk, and Allison Fisk
Grandchildren: John, Charlie, Lennox, Laird, Abigail, and Noah
Parents: John and Gail Watkins
Sisters: Angie Meador, Kathryn Pay and Husband Ryan
Parents-in-law: David and Ann Fisk
And numerous nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends
Eric and the children would like to take this opportunity to say a special thank you to the staff of M.D. Anderson and Oasis of Hope for their efforts in battling this cancer alongside us for the past several years. Their dedication to finding a cure is truly remarkable and we are fortunate to have had a relationship with them.
