Yolanda Ealy-Lewis passed away in Houston, TX on February 22, 2019. She was born in Los Angeles, California on October 15, 1962 to Bertha Thompson and James Ealy. She was raised by her grandmother Reba Thompson (Nana), along with her younger sister Bridget Rosborough.
She attended public schools and graduated from Crenshaw High School in South Central LA.
She married Joseph Charles Lewis Jr. on March 20, 1982 in Riverside, Ca. They moved to northern California and settled in San Jose, Ca. In 1984 the couple gave their lives to Jesus Christ and a year later on April 16, 1985, they welcome their first and only son together; Joseph Charles Lewis III. The couple then moved to Vallejo, Ca.
After the couple’s divorce, Yolanda went back to school to finish her degree. She graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. She then went on to work at the City of Oakland, preparing them for Y2K.
In the spring of 2003, she met Raymond Holley in a forum for SWAC schools. They started a long distant relationship, since he was in Texas. They fell in love and she moved to Cypress, Tx. in the summer of 2004, to be together.
Yolanda enjoyed reading, writing, traveling, visiting new places, going to nice restaurants, being with friends & family, and being a loving mother.
Yolanda was proceeded in death by her grandmother Reba Thompson-Tate(Nana) who raised her most of her life. Her mother Bertha Thompson and her father James Ealy and a brother Xavier Ealy.
She is survived by her husband Raymond Holley, her son Joseph Lewis, step-children: Jeremiah Daniel, Joshua Holley and Jereica Holley, her sisters: Bridget Rosborough, Janice Ealy-Babineaux, Rachel Ealy, a mother in Law; Janice Carr, a brother in Law: Gerald Brown and a host of nieces, nephews and longtime friends.
