She is survived by her mother, Consuelo Vela Munoz, father Johnny Mendez, stepfather Nicolas Munoz Sr.; husband, Michael Averitt; children, John Edward Mendez, Michael Douglas Averitt, Maggie Angel Averitt; Siblings, Gretchen Kim Robichaux, Greta Lynn Barnes, Nicolas Munoz Jr., Patricio Munoz, Francisca Nicole Munoz; grandson Ayden Mendez.

Yvonne’s nickname was “Nana”.  But it wasn’t just a nickname, it’s who she was to us all.  Our Nana was an angel sent from heaven to love and care for everyone who came into her life. “ Everything she gave, Nothing she would take”.
