Alfred William Shanley

Alfred Shanley, most affectionately known as Al, loving husband, father, and friend, and devoted son to the Father Most Holy, went home to the Lord on Friday, February 3, 2023. He was proud to serve his country for twenty years in the US Army and early on in his career, met the love of his life, Jean. As they traveled the world for his deployments, they had two daughters Amanda and Samantha. He taught his girls to rely in the Lord for all things, to give thanks, to be grateful, and to be humble. Al always brought joy to everyone he met, and always had a positive outlook in life. He enjoyed the little things and taught his grandchildren to enjoy the simple pure moments in life. He was never without a to-do list and a project was always percolating and being done. He persevered through pain and showed us how to live life gracefully. He will be missed by all.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, February 17, 2023, at Cypress Fairbanks Funeral Home, located at 9926 Jones Road, Houston, Texas 77065. Internment will be at the Houston National Cemetery.
