Tribute

Gordon Seeton of Houston, Tx passed on to the Lord on January 27, 2023.

He was born on Pearl Harbor Day- December 7, 1941- to Rupert and Gretchen Seeton in Lowell, Massachusetts.

As a youngster he contracted polio that caused him great difficulty to walk, but recovered with little side effects thanks to the Lord. He joined the US Navy after High School, serving proudly on the USS Enterprise CVN-65. He traveled around the world and met countless people in many ports of call.

It was during his Navy service he met and married his wife in Washington, DC. They went on to have two children which were his joy.

After being honorably discharged, he started his career in the Air conditioning and Heating industry, which led him to Maintenance Engineering. He held management positions in government and large national corporations. He mentored and trained many employees for over 40 years, some of whom became close friends.

He and his wife spent many years as volunteers in children’s causes in the Houston area. He and his wife believed in helping other children as he had been helped many times in his life.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his son (Edward Seeton), his wife of 51 years (Sally Seeton), and his brothers (George and Leroy Seeton).

He is survived by his brother (Raymond Seeton), his sister and brother in law (Lucille Bouchard Ward and Dale Ward), daughter and son in law (Susan Seeton and Richard McMenemy), and his grandsons (Elliott, Ian and Alex McMenemy) along with nieces, nephews and many other loved ones.

He is also survived by his life partner of the last six years (Patricia Ashton), whom he loved dearly.

Gordon lived his life with curiosity, warmth and commitment to his fellow man. He will be sorely missed.
