Rosita Pasquet

Rosita Fernandez Pasquet was born to John and Alejadrina Fernandez on April 16, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York.  She was one of two children.  The other, who has predeceased her, was John Fernandez. 

Rosita attended Public School 8 in Brooklyn, New York that went all the way to high school.  Rosita attended continuing education hoping to one day be a nurse.

Rosita met Pierre Henri Pasquet sometime around 1950 at a school dance. They dated several years, waiting to marry until he graduated from Fordham University. On April 24, 1954, Rosita and Pierre “Pete” married at Plymouth Church of the Pilgrims. They remained married until Pierre’s passing on February 12, 2007.  They had one child, they waited ten years to have, Janine Felice Pasquet on March 28, 1964. 

Pierre’s work with Shell Oil Company brought them to Houston, Texas in 1969.  Rosita had to learn how to drive at 40 years old and purchased one of many station wagons to come. 

Rosita was always a “people” person and loved her family and friends with big love and loyalty.  She was a fiercely independent woman and throughout her time in Houston, she worked for several door-to-door retails sales including Fuller Brush, Tupperware and Lady Remington.  She was success in business because she knew how to talk to people.  She enjoyed going to play, musicals and spent much of her time with her best friend, Miola Laws, when Pierre didn’t feel like stepping out.  Together, Rosita and Miola, shared music, family milestones and many events together in their 50 plus years of friendship. 

On February 3, 2023, Rosita left this earth to be in a better place.  She leaves to cherish her memory:  Janine Pasquet Benoit, her only child; Billy Benoit, her beloved son-in-law; William J. Benoit, who she loved with all her heart, Danielle M. Benoit, her step-granddaughter that she loved mucho & one great-granddaughter, Alina S. Pruitt, who always loved her “Nana Rose” and the members of the extended Benoit family.
